About Festival Of Color

Festival of Color, Pacific Northwest’s largest color festival is back. This year's event is back to its traditional location of Marymoor Park and will be on Saturday, March 23rd from 10:30 AM - 6.00 PM.

Festival of color, welcoming Spring, is the largest Festival of color/ Holi celebration in the Pacific Northwest with 10,000+ participants from the Eastside, Seattle, and beyond. The festival of color is organized by Northwest Share in partnership with King County's Marymoor Park and Vedic Cultural Center, Sammamish, with the support of the City of Redmond 's Tourism Grant program.

The ancient festival of Holi (Festival of Color) is celebrated every year in India and has found a permanent home in Pacific Northwest as well. The Festival of Color frees all the inhibitions within people so they can relate to others with pure joy. It brings people together and creates a community of happy people. The highlight of the festival is the great fun of coloring while dancing and jumping blissfully with friends and newcomers. Enjoy colors, music, dance, fun, contests and tasty Indian food. The best and most joyful event for the complete family, suitable for all ages during a warm spring day.

Holi - Festival of Colors

Holi announces the arrival of spring and the passing of winter. The festival breathes an atmosphere of social merriment. People bury their hatchets with a warm embrace and throw their worries to the wind. Every nook and corner presents a colorful sight. Young and old alike are covered with colors (red, green, yellow, blue, pink, orange, violet, and more). People in small groups are seen singing, dancing and throwing colors on each other. Drenched in colors, everybody comes to resemble each other losing their original self. This is the beauty of this festival. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that this festival treats everybody at par, all differences dissolve in the colored selves. Though liquid colors are used in India (where it’s warm) we prohibit them, as we don’t want anyone to catch cold on account of the festival.
